Koh Tao Divers has been shaping the island’s diving scene since 1987, making it one of Koh Tao’s longest-running dive centres. Based on Sairee Beach with its own dive vessel, the centre has built a strong reputation across the full spectrum of diving — but it’s their technical programme that really sets them apart.

A Genuine Technical Diving Centre

Most Koh Tao operations focus on entry-level recreational courses. Koh Tao Divers is different: it’s the island’s leading hub for technical, sidemount and CCR (closed-circuit rebreather) training. Their instructors aren’t just qualified to teach tech — many are active cave, mine and wreck explorers who have discovered WWII wrecks and cave systems, bringing real-world exploration experience into the classroom and the water.

The SSI Extended Range (XR) curriculum here is comprehensive:

• Extended Range & Technical XR — staged decompression and trimix diving to 60m
• XR Sidemount — redundant gas configuration for flexibility and safety
• XR Wreck & XR Cavern — overhead-environment penetration training
• CCR courses — rebreather training from beginner through hypoxic trimix levels

Recreational Diving Too

Technical pedigree doesn’t come at the expense of the basics. Koh Tao Divers runs the full range of SSI recreational courses — from first-time Open Water through Advanced and specialties — alongside daily fun-diving trips to Koh Tao’s headline sites including Chumphon Pinnacle, Sail Rock and the HTMS Sattakut wreck. Having their own boat means they can pick the best sites based on daily conditions rather than following a fixed schedule.
